Monique Nardone - Artistic Director
Monique Nardone is the sister of Michele, and also began her formal training as a violinist at an early age. Her professional studies also included the violin, viola and piano, she is accomplished on all three instruments. Monique went on to attend and graduate from Brooks College in Long Beach, California. Monique has played professionally for many years in various Ensemble Groups, Quartets, and various Orchestras, as well as playing for many Special Events in the Los Angeles Area. Now teaching for many years in Palos Verdes, California, where she is a Certified Suzuki Teacher Member SAA & SMACLA & American String Teachers Association and has recently participated in the 1st Suzuki USA - FRANCE Exchange Program Concert Hess Park, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA. In June of 2011, Monique and Michele of Palos Verdes Strings were invited to have their Students perform at the prestigious Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, CA. The evening was a huge success, as well as being such an honor. The students will always remember being part of an event of this magnitude and an incredible evening was had by all. Now on an on going basis, both sisters teach Private Violin Lessons, Ensemble and Group Classes. They also teach at several Private Schools weekly. They begin to develop young students’ skills from the age of three and four years old and up. These young children experience a love of music and performing at an early age and move up quickly to begin to play with enthusiasm, proficiency and confidence. Some go on to study privately when they are ready and later will move on to playing in the Group Classes as well. Monique enjoys teaching and is rewarded by the number of students she teaches and watches quickly progress. They are consistently expanding their musical abilities, learning new and advanced skills, artisanship, as well as a greater appreciation for music. This is the satisfaction a Teacher derives from doing what they love. What could be more gratifying than watching another human being grow artistically and take pleasure at their own accomplishments, not to mention having fun learning and growing into a fuller, richer human being from learning an instrument. It's something you take with you the rest of your life. This is what makes Monique passionate about doing what she does, Instructing students on playing an instrument but more importantly, teaching them the love of music.
